Why we love it

Roxanne @ The Verdict is one of Team Wriggle's favourite spots in Brighton – an uber-cool jazz club-cum-cafe-bar, serving up tasty food, good vibes, and incredible tunes. If you're looking for a casual bite to eat, the cafe itself is a joy. The menu is short but sweet, much like the owner; with customers favouring the artisan bread sandwiches, smashed avocado or scrambled eggs with chorizo. The home made sweet treats and fresh smoothies also catch the eye and with access to the sunny Dorset Gardens there is no better spot to grab a snack. You can also expect barista made coffee with the wonderful Backyard Coffee beans which are roasted in Ditchling. There's always plenty of veggie and vegan options too, meaning that everybody can get involved. The Jazz Club itself is a beautifully soundproofed, purpose-built auditorium that can comfortably seat 60 people. In residence at this cosy underground venue is an Offenbach piano, bass amp, drum kit and PA, making it a dynamic multi-functional space that's played host to some of the finest jazz musicians in the world. If you're after a fabulous evening of live music, The Verdict is the perfect place for you; it is widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz venues in Europe, by musicians, guests and press – get down there and find out for yourself what all the fuss is about.
