Relatively new to the Brighton foodie scene is Kujira, a modern Japanese ‘izakaya’ specializing in Robata and cocktails.
A ‘Robata’ is a grill restaurant that uses a slow burning wood or coal technique without live flames to produce a rich, intense flavour unlike any other. Kujira is the perfect place to come with friends for Japanese style sharing plates and some of the best cocktails in the city. There are plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten-free dishes available and the impressive cocktail list has been curated by their in-house mixologist and utilises homemade botanicals, syrups, garnishes and flavours.
The food is amazing. The sauces are perfect. House wine during happy hour was pretty tasty too
Fantastic venue and great food but unfortunately not very exciting for vegans so won't be going back! Would highly recommend for everyone else!
Amazing small plates! great service very nice vibe
Absolutely delicious food, modern decor, lovely staff
Nice restaurant with great service. The cocktails were very nice, as was the aubergine starter. Being vegetarians, there was only one main option, which was quite bland. I imagine this might be the kind of place that's better experienced as a meat eater.
