English's of Brighton

29-31 East Street, Brighton, BN1 1HL

Why we love it?

Few restaurants are as iconic as the city in which they're located, but English’s in Brighton certainly is. This seafood restaurant has been a part of the city’s food scene for around 150 years and is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. With a celebrity Hall of Fame featuring legends from Charlie Chaplin through to Judy Dench, they are even visited by a ghostly spectre.

The food is a mix of classic seafood favourites with some slightly more contemporary twists. The restaurant has a very traditional feel with impeccably dressed staff, beautiful décor and outdoor seating. The service is outstanding and the highly knowledgeable and friendly staff are always on hand to suggest a wine pairing or recommendation.
