Italian street food, eh? Tuscan scran liberated from the chequered table cloth, twee balsamic bottle and giant pepper grinder, Eatalio’s straight up Subway-style format has diners combine their choice of base (pasta, wrap or salad) with selections from the grill (chicken, spicy sausage, rump steak, seasonal veg), sauce and sundry toppings. Eatalio makes fast-food pasta work (never easy), and the ragu di pomodoro is unfussy but ravishing. Décor-wise, think brash and Brighton-funky, with industrial finishing and unisex loos hilariously flexible ‘regardless of gender identity or expression’. A bellissima lunch spot with great coffee, or nicely sited for a carb-loading pitstop when on the tiles.
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and well kept business
Delicious, healthy, good value food, served by a very friendly team! Would definitely recommend
Don't go there expecting authentic Italian. Possibly because it was early evening but everything felt tired - the meatballs were fairly hard and the cold/raw toppings come off like a side salad that's been mixed in (I had penne with lamb meatballs in spicy tomato sauce with sweetcorn & green pepper toppings). I wasn't unpleasant - it all tasted fine, but really nothing great. Still, with the Wriggle it was decent value. As fast-food joints go it's a nice place to sit, it is quick and the staff are nice, but the end product needs some work.
Great deal. Very recommended.
