Why we love it?

For such a goody-two-shoes concept – largely vegetarian, largely gluten free – this colourful spot in the heart of the Lanes sure is buzzing. Quick and healthy lunches like street food, dosas, uttapams and tandoor naan wraps, traditional thali platters and quirky spicy desserts are one way to enjoy it; a proper sit down evening meal is best, with a fat glass of red among the chatter of Brighton movers and shakers. On Sunday from midday until 3.30pm they even do an Indian brunch with masala-battered fish and spiced chips. Soups are particularly rich and satisfying, and the focus on south Indian cuisine (rather than trying to be all things to all people curry-wise) ensure the chefs know what they’re talking about. Never disappoints.

Wriggle Highlights
  • Vibrant interior of pot plants and exposed brick
  • Their unique Indian spiced brunch
  • Keralan Kedara Curry
  • Their Thai-Tanic cocktail - it's stunning

“If it’s your first visit, try the Nellore Sweetcorn Vadas – a typically South-Indian street food dish. Also, the Goan Fish Kadi curry is one of the best we’ve ever created”
