Why we love it

A proper local independent boozer with a family at the helm - lovingly restored in the heart of Brighton.

Just two minutes from Brighton station lies the charming West Hill Tavern. Their decor - a stylish blend of old and new, sets the stage for a perfectly formed menu. Most notably, the pub is home to the Cosmic Pizza Co. who serve up classic pizzas with out of this world twists (Tuesday to Saturday evenings). Pizza not your thing? No worries - these lovely folk make some amazing burgers, fish ‘n’ chips, and vegan and veggie treats. And what's a pub without a Sunday roast? Theirs isn't your average - it's bangin'. Stars of the show include Top-side Beef (served pink), Lemon and Thyme Roasted Chicken, Mushroom and Lentil Loaf with Tomato and Balsamic Glaze, and Cider Roast Pork Belly with Crackling. Booze wise you can expect an array of local ales from S.I.B.A (Society of Independent Breweries), carefully selected glug-able wines, craft beers, not so crafty beers, and bloody good Bloody Marys.

The wonderful team work hard to curate a programme of events which they host at the pub, so keep an eye on their social media to see what's coming up. There is something for everyone - so gather your most knowledgeable mates for their Quiz Nights, potter down to Piano Bingo, and dance away to local DJ's. Wriggle favourite is their Jazz Thursdays and live band shows, not to forget Open Mic Nights!

Let's Get Pizza'd Bottomless Brunch every Saturday - need we say more
Not one to miss - their vegan Sorry Miss Jackfruit pizza staring pulled BBQ jackfruit
Doh-Nuts with homemade raspberry sauce - best you'll get for your dough

Like the pub from time to time. It’s usually quite quiet in the early evening and a little busier after 9 pm or so but good ambiance, quite cozy. Not a huge variety of craft beer but it’s ok. Good variety though in pizzas options for vegans, veggies, meat eaters and gluten free (with an extra) but not very generous in the amount of ingredients.

Lovely pub, pizza is good for the price

Great pub, great pizza! There was a dog there AND live music which are added bonuses.

Really nice, friendly pub. Staff were great, the pizzas were lovely and the music was cool.

The pizza was delicious and also offered some toppings I’ve not seen at a lot of other pizza joints.

Love the variety of pizza's on offer - great to try something different !
