When Birmingham’s passion for street art, outstanding eats and beer collides, you know you can expect great things to happen - and that’s where The Lord Clifden.
Making its home in the vibrant Jewellery Quarter, The Lord Clifden is a buzzy pub that pridely harbours all of Birmingham’s best bits under one roof. Inside, framed pieces of street art by the likes of Banksy, D*Face, and Obey line the walls, surrounded by old-school pub furniture. And out the back, you’ll find one of our favourite pub gardens in the city. By day, its ample seating gives you an outdoor space to kickback with a pint and catch up with mates. But by night, The Lord Clifden crank up the party vibe with a covered space for weekly DJs to spin tracks and plenty of room to get up and dance.
On a whole, The Lord Clifden is a beer drinkers kind of hangout. It packs several quality continental lagers on tap, including a rare selection from Budvar (including the Budvar Yeast and their Half & Half), alongside an impressive selection of regularly changing real ales. They’ve also muscled in on the craft beer scene, packing the fridges with an array of outstanding pale ales, session IPAs, and porters from breweries across the UK and beyond.
They turn out some quality food too. Everyday from 10am ‘til 12pm, you can sneak in for a proper breakfast; we’re talking hefty sandwiches, stacked full-english feasts, and an American-style breakfast with 8oz sirloin. Going into the afternoon and evenings, The Lord Clifden turn their hands to gastropub classics and banging burgers (we recommend the Crispy Jerk burger) that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The Lord Clifden also has a sporty side. Not only is it the spot to catch the latest games on screens inside and out, there are also plenty of opportunities to show off your own competitive talents with ping pong, darts and fussball scattered throughout the bar. The ping pong table even has pride of place in the garden, surrounded by a handful of benches to lure in spectators.
With its graffiti covered walls and more than entertaining atmosphere (in fact, it even picked up an award for being the ‘Best Entertainment Pub’ in the UK), this unique urban pub is one cool spot, worth its weight in gold.
