With over 30 years in the game, it’s no surprise that Shababs have mastered the art of creating vibrant balti dishes. In fact, they’ve been part of the Balti Triangle scene since its early days, and have used every ounce of experience they’ve gained along the way to take their balti abilities to the next level, cementing them as one of the leading restaurants in the area.
You won’t find anywhere that serves baltis better than this. Shabab’s take pride in their work, blending fresh herbs and spices with high-quality ingredients to create some banging dishes. All your favourites are on offer, with plenty of variants of chicken and keema balti with bags of fresh vegetables packed in. We’re particularly into their meat balti with black eye beans and aloo. Every balti dish arrives as it should: in the vessel its cooked in, and generously portioned. Oh, just don’t forget to order plenty of freshly baked bread to mop up all that sauce - you won’t want to waste a drop.
If you’ve had one too many baltis in your time (can there be such a thing?) and want to try something different, then you’re in luck - Shabab’s have a lot of different things up for grabs in their menu. Take a look at their succulent and highly flavoursome grilled sizzlers: made fresh to order, these steaming dishes of chicken tikka, seekh kebab or mixed meats are rich and rewarding bites, fragranced with a glorious selection of spices and served with a side of fries. They’ve also got a bountiful selection of glassic curry dishes, including rogan joshs, dhansaks and jalfrazees. Top any of these off with a few spoonfuls of mushroom pilau rice and you’re onto a winner.
Shababs is definitely an institution in Birmingham’s food scene, and the Balti Triangle wouldn’t be the same without them. Whether it’s an evening out with your mates, or a few drinks with colleagues, there’s always an excuse to get over here and tuck into their feel good food.
