Alcester Road is fast becoming a renowned spot to eat your way around the world; every restaurant invites your to sample cuisine from different countries, communities and families, and share traditional dishes and contemporary eats alike. One of the many gems you’ll find here is Saba - and it definitely requires your attention.
After opening its doors in 2015, Saba has become a favourite amongst the team. This family-run restaurant specialises in Persian cuisine, and showcases a wealth of different dishes, authentic flavours and unique ingredients. Its setting is both immersive and relaxing with flourishes of Persian artwork, subtle lighting and bespoke wooden furniture, all adding to a sense that this place is the Real McCoy.
For those who haven’t indulged in Persian cuisine before, the Saba team have crafted a menu that gives you the perfect introduction to a wide scope of dishes and delicacies. Everything is made with a mixture of traditional spices, fresh vegetables, and high-quality meats to ensure that each dish is of the highest-quality and is served with genuine tastes and textures. We recommend grabbing a few things to share, like a Chelow kebab-e-Barg (charcoal grilled fillet of lamb skewer), Chelow Jojeh Kebab (skewer of grilled marinated chicken breast), Ghorme Sabzi, and a side of hummus with naan. Almost everything comes served with a side of saffron steamed rice, which is lucky for you as it’s probably our favourite part of the meal.
You shouldn’t skip dessert either. A handful of baklava and some Persian ice-cream is the perfect ending to any meal at Saba. Pair this with a Persian tea or (if you’re feeling adventurous) the Doogh, then you’ve really made the most of the situation.
Saba Persian Restaurant strives to create a dining experience that your taste-buds will surely reminisce, and you know what - they’ve cracked it.
