Behold - Birmingham’s All You Can Eat sushi joint. Yep, you heard us right. For one fixed price, Kyoto offer unlimited rounds of sushi, delivered direct to your table.
When it comes to their sushi selection, they’ve got the lot. For Nigiri fans, you can find everything from salmon and tuna, to surf clam, crab-stick and bean curd. And then there’s the Maki: an absolutely endless selection of colourful rolls stuffed to the brim with crispy crab, salmon and cream cheese, and avocado maki. Right up there with our favourites however, are the light yet crunchy Temaki Hand Rolls (order the California Handroll) which are served full of fresh vegetables and winning meat and fish combinations.
They also have a stellar selection of grilled and fried bites, adding a nice hot selection to the delicate and cool sushi mix. There’s a great fish, including tempura ebi (fried shrimp), yaki sake (grilled salmon), and ika furai (fried squid), as well as plenty of flavoursome meat staples like kara age (fried chicken), butaniku furai (fried pork), and black pepper
gyu niku (beef with black pepper sauce). Expect generous servings of sesame prawn toast, dumplings and vegetable spring rolls too.
But we know what you’re thinking - don’t all you can eat venues result in a lot of wasted grub? Well, usually, yes. But Kyoto are well aware of this, and strive to ensure everyone’s only ordering what they can manage. They have a waste policy to manage what’s eaten which adds a couple of quid on the top of anyone’s bill who is leaving too much waste.
If you need to get your sushi fix, there’s no better place to head to than Kyoto. It’s lively atmosphere and seemingly endless selection of sushi plates means that you can really have your sushi and eat it. Get involved.
