Where there’s arcade games, table tennis and foosball, you’re bound to find a couple of our team members in fierce competition. And that’s why we make Kongs one of our regular haunt, whether that’s the one opposite our HQ on King Street in Bristol, or this latest venture from the team on Birmingham’s Victoria Square.
Kongs is the combination of our contemporary love of craft beer and our nostalgic demand for a hangout to play arcade games we all grew up with. This lively little joint pulls in the crowds every night of the week. On any occasion we guarantee you’ll find people looking to battle on the foosball table or beat their personal bests on the growing collection of arcade games (Final Fight being up there with our favourites). And across the weekend, you’ll also find their in-house DJs spinning some great tracks that’ll have you up on the dance floor quicker than you can say “king kong”. All in all, this is one cool spot for kicking back and breaking out of your usual routine.
On the beer side, you won’t find many places that stocks better brews than this. There’s always a strong line-up of staples on tap (including Red Stripe and Blue Moon), but it’s their selection of ever-changing guest craft beers and ales that you should check out. From some UK favourites, like DEYA, Tiny Rebel and North Brewing Co., to more obscure breweries such as Collective Arts (try the blonde ale if they have any left) and Lervig (the house party session pale is outrageously easy to drink), you’re absolutely spoilt for choice. They also host regular tap takeover nights with featured brewers that are well worth checking out - head to their Facebook page to see what’s in the pipeline.
Whether it’s a quiet pint or the ultimate table tennis showdown, just know that Kongs will always have your back.
