Why we love it

The Indian Brewery started out with a straightforward vision: to use a positive work ethos and creative ambition to create inspired craft beer right here in Birmingham. After achieving success in this field, they’ve gone on to open up two casual dining spots in Birmingham (one in Snowhill, and another in Solihull), that marry their very own brews with quality street food inspired by Indian flavours. This is a great for spice-loving foodies and craft beer lovers.

For those who haven’t stopped by their Snowhill joint yet, you’ll find it tucked under the railway arches on Livery Street. Step inside and you’re transported from the busy city-centre streets to a vibrant street food setting; long communal tables spread throughout part of the space play host to a bustling scene amongst bright walls hung with old-school Indian memorabilia. The entire venue is split into two rooms carrying this vibe, boasting bars stacked with Indian Brewery’s latest and most popular beers, alongside a handpicked selection of spirits. It’s an entertaining and cool hangout, that’s as energising as it is laidback.

But looks aside, one of the first things you can expect to notice when you enter Indian Brewery in Snowhill is the smell of freshly prepared street food dishes; there’s a fragrant scent to the place that exudes from the visible kitchen in the left-hand area of the venue. The menu (designed to look like the front page of a newspaper) is an exciting promise of a bountiful feast - and it does not let you down. On the more ‘traditional’ edge, Indian Brewery serve hardworking Thalis that pack a generous portion of beautifully prepared favourites including chicken curries, aloo ghobi, tarka dhal and chana. For a more street food flavour, the team sling fat naans topped with chicken, veg, or chilli fish, alongside Indian fried chicken and an inspired take on fish and chips.

Indian Brewery have packed all the fun of the fair into their food joints. If you’re seeking good drinks and plenty of vibrant eats, then this one’s for you - whatever the occasion.
