This is Bath’s first and only Kaiten sushi restaurant. Literally translated as “going around”, Yen Sushi serve a banquet of sushi and sashimi dishes, straight from an iconic conveyor - just like you see in the movies.
For the very best experience, get a spot at the large communal area that surrounds the preparation area and conveyor. It’s a front-row seat to the sushi show, where Yen Sushi’s skilled chefs work their blades with ease to craft elegant sushi and sashimi plates. And if there’s anything in particular that tickles your fancy from their extensive menu, then you can ask the chefs to make it right before your very eyes.
Putting the master-skills of the chefs aside, as a Kaiten sushi restaurant, the highlight of Yen Sushi is undoubtedly the conveyor. Watching the endless dishes circumnavigate the space in front of you is hypnotic; tantilising and immersive, it’s hard not to get overwhelmed. But word to the wise - diving in and grabbing a selection of anything and everything that catches your eye is the best way to order. Call it a sushi pick-n-mix, with every morsel bringing unique textures and tastes to the table.
If you’re looking for a spot to hang out with a group of mates, there are also some large dining tables for you to bunch together. Whilst the sushi on the conveyor remains in your peripheries, sitting here gives you more of an opportunity to browse the bento, noodle and gyoza offerings that their menu boasts.
Fresh, flawless and fun - Yen Sushi’s unique venue and food holds its own. A must visit.
