Up until now, The Pizza Bike has really been on the roam, heading to weddings, markets and festivals all over the place. But now, the world’s smallest pizzeria has rolled up to the Bell Inn where its made itself a home. This is a real blessing because: A) it means you can go and talk to the team about the story behind the bike, and perhaps more importantly; B) you can get yourself one of their unique pizzas, and enjoy it alongside a pint from the pub.
It’s not just the genius of the bike that deserves praise. The pizzas themselves are more than worthy of your attention. Each and everyone begins with the base, made with their sourdough starter (named Spelty), Shipton Mill’s organic flours, and Himalayan salt. Then there’s the toppings; an organic tomato sauce is layered with a choice of locally sourced and organic ingredients, including cheddar from Somerset and smooth yet rich Sobrasada. It’s a masterful balancing act of sweet, savoury and spicy ingredients, that results in some truly remarkable and unique pizzas.
As Angel says “life is pizza”. And with the pizza bike, you’re never far from your next ‘za. Want to get in on the action and share in this vision? Get on over to the Bell Inn to catch them there every Wednesday to Sunday.
