Since 2002, Same Same but Different has been winning the hearts of locals and tourists alike, cementing it as a true staple in Bath’s vibrant food and drink scene. It’s fitting to point out that there’s nothing “same same” about this easy-going food joint. A lively brunch spot by day (serving hearty full English breakfasts with vegetarian and vegan options), and an intimate Mediterranean Tapas bar by night, it covers a lot of bases - and that’s just one of the many reasons we love it.
Same Same Same but Different pull out all the stops with their food, but it’s their tapas that really stands out. Made up of rotating dishes dictated by season, Same Same but Different’s tapas selection contains both old favourites plucked from Mediterranean menus (you’ll definitely want to order patatas bravas), alongside creative plates that harness the taste and textures of local produce (things like confit pork with cider lentils). Everything is well priced which means you don’t have to be too selective - we’ve definitely been known to order almost every dish on the menu and pick at it with a bottle or two of wine over an entire evening.
And if it’s a date night location you’re looking for, then you couldn’t pick a better setting. With relaxed music, candles scattered on tables and a small but inspired wine list, they’re pros when it comes to creating a relaxed and immersive atmosphere. There’s also a few small tables outside, so if you want to get a Mediterranean-cum-Georgian alfresco experience, be sure to snap up one of those.
