Corkage on Chapel Row is one of two Corkage venues in Bath, both of which share a straightforward vision: to serve great wine and seasonal small plates in a convivial atmosphere.
Every bottle of wine you see at Corkage is handpicked. Pursue their shelves and you’ll see bottles from near enough every country you can think of, with plenty of organic and intriguing natural wines to boot. We definitely recommend ordering by the glass so you can try a few different wines on one visit. But take note - their selection is constantly changing, so if you’re onto a real winner be sure to buy a bottle to take home or you’ll run the risk of it disappearing for good.
Then there are the small plates and chargrills. The menu is constantly changing to suit the seasons and available local produce. As we write this, the menu is a vibrant reflection of summer with Devon crab, tarragon creamed leeks, and fennel and kohlrabi salad just some of the delights gracing the menu. Be sure to head to their Instagram profile to see what’s on their menu when you plan your visit.
Both the food and wine pairs exceptionally well with the interior, which has a neat French Bistro feel. It has a rustic yet modern finish with simple wooden furniture and bar stools, that lend to Corkage’s casual environment. There’s also a fantastic terrace and garden area out the back, which feels like a real hidden gem to enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine during the summer months.
Corkage is a real tour de force when it comes to Bath’s food and drink scene. Elegant yet relaxed, sophisticated yet casual, they’ve found balance in a busy world of food a drink and brought focus back to the simple pleasure of eating and drinking. Trust us - you’re going to love it.
