100% vegan, 100% good stuff - you’re looking at a little slice of plant-based heaven nestled right in the heart of Bath’s city centre.
With a wealth of experience on the local food scene, Sus Davy took the reigns at Cascara in 2018 and transformed it into a fully-vegan joint. Together with a strong female-led team, Cascara are ruling the waves with their meticulous cakes, imaginative sandwiches, warming soups and spot-on coffee.
For the vegans amongst us, you’ve properly already stumbled across Cascara; it’s established itself with quite a cult following in the city and wider South West already, thanks to its good vibes and quality food. However, if you’re looking for an introduction to proper vegan food, their sandwiches and toasties will tell you what this spot is all about. The smoky tahini jackfruit sarnie with kale and Bath Culture House sauerkraut is a real crowd pleaser, and represents everything good about plant-based eating;
And then there’s the cakes. Expertly baked in house, each morsel is as fresh as it gets and is (of course) made from entirely animal-free products. From classic strawberry scones and berry-filled oat slices, to more avant-garde banana croissant loaves and parsnip and coconut cake, there’s no better place to sink your teeth into some truly unique sweet treats.
The venue itself is just as welcoming as the food. Spread across three floors with ample sunlight, it’s a great place to head to when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Its light walls are decorated with art from local artists, and plants are scattered throughout the landscape creating a relaxing atmosphere.
It’s clear that the Cascara team are passionate about everything they do, and their menu is a flawless reflection of this. So next time you’re in town, do yourself a favour and stop by, and help spread the excitement for sustainable and ethical plant-based eating.
