With burgers that angels themselves would pray for, it’s no coincidence that Bear Grills is proudly illuminating a corner of St. Saviours Rd.
Established by a guy named Carl in 2017, the combination of hand-pressed patties, gooey cheese and a plethora of classic toppings ensured that Bear Grills quickly became a favourite amongst the Bath burger scene. This takeaway joint has it all: beef, crispy chicken, pulled pork, mushroom, and veggie burgers. Everything's made on-site by hand every single day using quality ingredients, so you can rest assured that your bite is fresh and full of flavour.
One thing Bear Grills taught us is to appreciate the value of a straight-forward burger. These days, it’s easy to get carried away with toppings and create frankenstein-esque burgers that don’t really cut the mustard. Yes Bear Grills still give you the option to go large and stack your buns high, but we prefer a different approach. Take their lamb burger, for example. A single hand-pressed patty dressed in soured cream lies on a bed of crisp lettuce and sweet beef tomato slices; that’s it, but that’s all it needs. The same can be said for their straight-up beef burgers (made with fresh chuck mince from local butchers Terry and Sons). The juicy patties do all the hard work, carrying rich flavours that would be a shame to drown out with an overload of toppings. So if you’re visiting for the first time, do the Bear Grills team and their quality ingredients justice; keep it simple and savour the delicate flavours of the grilled meats.
It’s time to ask for forgiveness for your past burger sins; embrace the glory of Bear Grills and their heavenly buns.
