A Guide to Burgers in Bristol

Bristol's burger game is only getting stronger at the moment. There seems to be no slowing in the number of new, amazing burger bars opening in the city, adding to the already excellent array of burgers already on offer. But with over 45 venues in Bristol laying claim to having the best burger about, who should you trust? Below is a selection of some of our favourites that should be on your must-eat list.

A long-standing hero of the burger scene in Bristol is The Burger Joint. It's received national recognition multiple times with The Telegraph going as far making it one of the best burgers in the UK. A highly customisable menu and ingredients sourced from local suppliers means you can expect quality with every bite. Find them in Clifton, Bedminster and Fishponds.

One of the hidden gems of Bristol and a big Wriggle favourite, Smoke & Glaze is a burger kitchen that's currently residing in Pipe & Slippers in Stokes Croft. The chips are chunky, the burgers are beautifully cooked and the flavour combos are well thought out. If you want a recommendation, the 'Best Steak Dinner' is a burger topped with a steak that falls apart when you bite into it -  heaven. Their chicken burger is also incredible, with a fat chicken breast encased in crunchy batter at the centre of a brioche bun. This is a must-eat for any Bristol burger lover.

Another local Bristol hero, Burger Theory, have been riding a wave of popularity since launching and have already got two locations in Bristol and another in Cardiff. Expect some large quantities, incredibly flavoursome burger patties and a great selection of accompanying toppings. Also, their vegan burger is fantastic so everyone can enjoy a burger session here. Find them at Kongs on Bristol's beer haven, King Street, or at The Golden Lion on Gloucester Road.
